Wolverhampton v Blackpool
Verdict: Bottom club, Wolverhampton, know that nothing but a win in this fixture is good enough as they face fellow promoted side, Blackpool. Blackpool has done such an amazing job this season, sitting comfortably around mid-table and 7pts above today's opponents. Their 3-1 win in a re-scheduled game against Tottenham, on Tuesday, was one of many highlights in a remarkable season. Wolves' last outing was a week ago when a late Carlos Vela goal denied them all 3pts, in a 1-1 draw at WBA.
Despite their lowly position, Wolverhampton do boast a solid home record of 6-2-5. In fact, they have won four of their last six at The Molineaux, including wins over Manchester United and Chelsea. Following the massive win midweek, Blackpool must back up four days later in what is likely to be a very physical encounter. The suspension of captain, Charlie Adam, is a big blow for the visiting side, especially as fellow central midfielder, Elliot Grandin, also sits this one out through injury. The unfit Andy Reid or limited Keith Southern are expected to fill the void so the central midfield area remains problematic. I expect the midweek exertions to take their toll on the visitors, and I think Wolves are good enough at home to take full advantage.
