Manchester United v Leeds United

Manchester United v Leeds United
Team news: Manchester United - Neville (IN), Scholes (IN) -- Leeds United - Bromby (susp.), Gradel (cup-tied)

Verdict: Following a 6 year absence these long standing rivals will be re-united, all be it with Leeds two divisions below their more illustrious counterparts. Leeds United are currently on top of the Division 1 table, 8pts ahead of their nearest rivals with a game in hand. There is no doubt that Leeds United are in good Division 1 form and in a confident mood. Manchester United are finally beginning to get their shape back after been plagued by injury in the defensive department. Experienced men Neville and Scholes are due to come back into the team that defeated Wigan Athletic 5-0 in their last outing.

The problem for Leeds United here is not only the class difference but the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson is taking this game seriously, as I am sure some of the older heads in the Old Trafford dressing room are. Players like Giggs, Scholes and Neville know what this game means to their supporters and I'm sure they will be letting their team mates know as well. Apart from the limited experience of playing at this level, the Leeds United players will have never played at such an intense and passionate atmosphere. On occassions like this, especially at Old Trafford, experience and composure is king and I just don't see enough of these traits in the Leeds United squad.

Pick: Manchester United -1.75AH @1.90 (VCbet, 10 units)
Manchester United 0 - 1 Leeds United
